Questions About GPM

WOW! Lottery is complete and the wheels are in motion for a successful opening in August! I’ve received many phone calls and emails with lots of the same questions, so I want to address some of those in this post. We can’t thank you enough for helping us get to this point! I am really excited about meeting each of your children as they walk through our doors! As always, if you have any other questions, please call or email me.

School Tours:
The building is still considered a ‘hard-hat area.’ Because of this, we are not able to offer tours at this time. We hope to have a big open-house once the renovations are complete. You will be notified of this as we go along. Keep watching our Facebook page for more pictures of the progress.

School Hours:
M/T/Th/F: 8:00 am – 3:15 pm
W: 8:00 am – 1:15 pm
Early release on Wednesday gives our teachers professional development time on a weekly basis.

Kinder Hours:
M/T/W/Th/F: 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
Kinder will be AM only. See below for info about full day kinder.

Full-Day Kinder:
We would love to offer a full-day kindergarten class. Because the State of Idaho doesn’t fund a full-day kinder program, we are able to offer a paid option. The cost would be $225/month and we need a minimum of 22 children in order to make this possible. Surveys will be sent out soon to accepted families in order for us to get a good idea of this possibility.

School Calendar:
The school calendar is available on our website. We tried to match our dates with the district. Unfortunately, not every date aligned and we appreciate your understanding of the many working parts within our organization.

Students must be immunized prior to the first day of school. If you choose not to immunize your student for medical/religious/other reasons, please fill out this form and upload it in the place of your immunization record.

We will provide busing to/from school. Until we get bids back from bus companies, we will not know the bus routes or locations. We anticipate more information on this in April/May.

Before/After School Care:
We will not provide before/after school care. If your students will not be using the bus, please make arrangements for your students to be dropped off/picked up before/after school.

As part of our academic model, we provide an hour at the end of each day for students to take elective classes. Typically, a teacher will select a topic of interest and range of grades that they would like to teach. Students are then able to register for elective topics that interest them. These are changed every quarter allowing students opportunities to try new/different things. Some examples of electives might be: Yoga, Art, Coding, Music.

Specialties: PE, Art, Music
Electives take the place of these specialties. PE is something we are still working on.

We are currently in the process of looking at extracurricular activities. Please note that these are dependant upon many factors and we’ll be sending out more info as it becomes available.

If you’ve driven by the building recently, you’ve noticed that there is no playground…YET! The contractor will be taking out the parking lot in the front of the building and adding grass and equipment later this spring/early summer. Here’s an aerial view of the playground location. Students will be given 2-3 recesses per day.
